During its Thirteenth Regular Meeting Bureau of the Shura Council Reviews Standing Committees’ Reports and Examines Ministerial Responses and Oversight Tools

The Bureau of the Shura Council, during its meeting today (Monday), reviewed a detailed report on the activities of the Councilās standing committees for March 2026. It also approved the agenda for the Councilās upcoming sittings for the third annual session (2025ā2026) of the tenth term.
This came during the Bureauās thirteenth regular meeting of the third annual session of the tenth term (2023ā2027), chaired by H.E. Khalid Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council, in the presence of Members of the Bureau and H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Al Nadabi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council.
During the meeting, the Bureau reviewed a number of ministerial responses to various oversight tools, including the response of H.E. the Minister of Labour to a parliamentary question regarding the identification of sectors subject to Omanisation within service contracts. The Bureau also reviewed the Ministerās response to a briefing request concerning the employment of graduates specialising in health and safety management. The response indicated that the Ministry of Labour is exercising its mandated responsibilities in coordination with relevant government entities, and that the matter had previously been discussed with the Ministry of Health in light of grievances submitted by job seekers.
In another item on its agenda, the Bureau reviewed a briefing request submitted to H.E. the Minister of Labour concerning the implications of the Ministryās decisions on the artisanal fishing sector. It also examined a proposal to launch a joint educational, awareness, and training programme between the Ministry of Education and the Royal Oman Police, targeting students in grades eight, nine, and ten.
The Bureau further approved the programme for the Councilās upcoming sittings, which includes hosting H.E. the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, as well as holding a joint session with the State Council.
